Eligibility for M.Tech. CAD/CAM

Candidates having completed B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering/ Production Engineering are eligible to pursue M.Tech. CAD/CAM. Aspiring candidates need to have scored a minimum aggregate score of 60% in graduation.

Additionally, they are required to qualify the GATE exam for pursuing M. Tech from any of the IITs and NITs. For admission to other engineering colleges, aspiring candidates need to clear the college- level entrance exam. The average tuition fee charged in India for pursuing of M. M.Tech. CAD/CAM: Admission Process

Aspiring candidates wishing to take admission to the course at any of the NITs or IITs need to score a good percentile in GATE. Merit list of candidates is prepared on the basis of marks obtained by them in GATE, and, accordingly, students are admitted to M.Tech. CAD/CAM course.

Entrance Exams for M.Tech. CAD/CAM

Admissions to the course in IITs or NITs are based on candidates’ performance in the nationally conducted GATE. The GATE exam consists of a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks. This exam has multiple choice questions and is a computer- based test. Some questions carry 1 mark while others carry 2 marks. Syllabus of GATE is based on the specialization which the candidate wishes to opt for in M. Tech.

Some colleges give 70% weightage to the GATE scores and 30% weightage to performance in the written test conducted by the concerned college/ university.
