Can't download an Excel file created from json object in flask and reactjs

I'm fetching the data made by an API call from a client and I want to export that data as an excel file and download it on the client's system. I'm using flask and reactjs.
@app.route('/octopus/v1.0/Excel_Download',methods=['POST','GET'])
def download_excel():
if not request.json:
abort(400)
data=request.get_json()
return flask_csv.send_csv(data,"test.csv", list(data[0].keys())) #Excel/csvI expect the file to be downloaded but I'm getting nothing except for a 200 Status Code.
