What is the best way to crack the GATE exam?

GATE ! It only demands consistency. I am an average student from an NIT. Our group decided to prepare for GATE and since we were in our last semester as well as placement season, there were too many distractions. But I think, key to success is just "consistency". Four months of serious study before GATE exam will suffice. You may have to sacrifice something....but again, it depends on the person. We did all kinds of thing- partying, late night table tennis, TV series. Most of the students preparing for the exam got deviated and their preparation was hindered by placement season. If you can form a group which can motivate you when you are low and loosing confidence... then only you will succeed. The four years of engg. makes us lazy and full of laxity. The road of preparation is smooth but long, so you need a companion otherwise it will be a long distance to cover. So,coming to your question, " Is the GATE exam tough ? " Answer is- " It is you who will decide."

I may not be the right person to give this answer because yet now i am not good ranker in GATE, right now i am also preparing for GATE. But there are some points which i am describing will definitely help in scoring good in GATE
- First clear your all the basics of all the subjects. Don’t skip any subjects (as you are targeting for high score) because completing all the subjects is utmost priority.
- Complete all the subjects till November or u can stretch this till mid December, So that you can get enough time to revise again and again.
- Complete one subject then move to the numerical portion of previous years, solve them, learn to apply concepts then give test in the test series. Don’t think too much about marks in the subject tests (marks matters in full length test) , main thing is that analyse your mistakes and rectify them. Then move to the next subject and so on.
